Meet The Artists Showing At Streeters Gallery

Every open call we run brings in work from around the world. Painters, photographers, designers, sculptors. Some showing for the first time, some with years behind them. What they share is work strong enough to earn a wall.

Here are some of the artists showing at Streeters Gallery this season, across our exhibitions in London, Paris and New York.

LORIG: turning waste into art

Paris based visual artist and designer LORIG makes work from what the rest of the world throws away. Hair, dog fibers, discarded materials. From that waste she invented KAMI-KAMI, a 100 percent natural, biodegradable material made entirely from organic waste, produced locally through a short supply chain.

She paints on it, moulds it, sews it, lights it up. It becomes furniture, packaging, sculpture and design objects. The material is referenced in several professional material libraries including MateriO' and L'Oréal, and every piece is a statement about what we choose to discard and what we choose to keep.

A graduate of the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts d'Angers, LORIG works at the crossing point of art, object design and material innovation. Her practice is exactly the kind of work Streeters exists to show: experimental, committed and impossible to scroll past.

Veronika Kina: photographing a haunted childhood

Photographer Veronika Kina was born in Russia into a Ukrainian Jewish family. Like most post-Soviet families, hers was never religious but deeply superstitious, and her work begins in the Slavic myths she read as a child. The mythical creatures of those stories kept her awake at night and never let go.

Her photography translates that childhood magic, a world where anything seemed possible. She creates images where the folkloric and the supernatural feel less like fantasy and more like a distant memory. She shoots through the eyes of the child she was, when the world was enchanted and frightening at the same time.

Steve Moors: where hand drawing meets digital

Steve Moors is a British American artist based in New York. He studied photography at the prestigious Newport School of Documentary Photography under David Hurn, and has spent his career across painting, illustration, art direction, graphic design and photography.

His current work merges those disciplines into one process: original hand drawn large format digital prints that look organic but are rendered digitally. His work has been exhibited in the US and the UK, including at London's Victoria and Albert Museum, and he works with residential and corporate clients, interior designers, collectors and curators.

Moors shows with Streeters at our New York exhibition in Tribeca this November.
